What is T400  in jeans?

 

 

T400  is a new type of PET/PTT bicomponent filaments yarn. It is made from two different polymers(PET/PTT ) that, when exposed to heat, shrink to a different degree and produce a smooth, helical crimp for durable stretch and shape retention.

 

 

 

 

The two polymers(PET/PTT )making up the yarn are extruded from the same spinneret, adjacent and arranged side by side.

 

 

This yarn is well known for its high mechanical properties in particular elasticity and elastic recovery,

T400 offers the needed muscle to pull the fabric back, providing excellent recovery even in hyper-stretch fabrics.Even after 500 times of repeated stretching, the elasticity recovery rate can be sustained at more than 95 percent .

The dyeing temperature can be chosen from 100 degrees Celsius to 130 degrees Celsius and can induce a two-color effect if it is below 120 degrees Celsius. When the temperature is increased to 130 degrees Celsius, the dyeing effect is uniform and the color fastness reaches more than four grades, which is equal to the dyeing characteristics of standard polyester.
